A small Periphery Star Guard unit was hired to protect an Interstellar Expeditions team from raiders as they explored the outer reaches of the Periphery. It was one of the few remaining teams still active and they could only afford a small defense force. Everything was normal (or boring for the PSG troops) until the Explorer Corps stumbled across a small Cache of Star League equipment including several LAMs in perfect condition. The Interstellar Expeditions immediately sent a message asking for more aid to protect their new treasures. Little did the Interstellar Expeditions team know, but they had a Word of Blake operative in their mist. The operative was the main communication officer for the team and sent the message to his Word of Blake allies instead of to Interstellar Expeditions. Soon Word of Blake forces were making planet fall to take this valuable prize for themselves…

Flying his Wasp LAM in Aerotech mode Dmitri flew in low to his target, A Word of Blake Manticore. The tank’s crew didn’t seem to notice Dmitri’s LAM swooping in on them. Dmitri smiled as he closed the distance between them quickly soon he was on top of the target. The Manticore stopped moving and turned its turret to bring its weapons to bare on incoming Land Air Mech. “Too late,” said Dmitri as he transformed his LAM from an Aerotech to a Air-Mech. Firing his jump jets on his Mech’s leg to slow him down Dmitri took aim with his medium laser, but then he felt something smashing into his mech causing alarms to go off. Glancing to his right Dmitri saw what was happening. A Word of Blake Warrior VTOL had spotted him and had moved in close to assist its tank ally and its autocannon’s shells were smashing into his Mech’s nose slowly moving toward his cockpit. Distracted by the Warrior Dmitri missed the Manticore’s main gun barrel instead he hit the well armor hull of the tank right next to the turret. Things had gotten bad fast for Dmitri, and now he would be forced to run or risk loosing his precious and very rare Wasp LAM.
