Light - Urbanmech

Mechwarrior Sam Brown once again found himself cursing his luck. Third son of a farming family - he had little chance of doing much in life aside from planting, tending, and harvesting quillar. His one ray of hope had come six years ago at the arcade in town. He had shown particular skill in the 'Mech simulator - and had been selected through a government program to get a full scholarship to the NAIS mechwarrior program.
That's where his good luck ran out though, in his opinion. Teased for being a "farm boy" no matter how hard he worked, the academy hadn't been a pleasant experience. When 'Mech training began, he had been assigned an Urbanmech . . . something his classmates suggested would be best suited pulling a plow back on the farm.
Determined to show them all up in his final exam, Sam eagerly scanned his monitors, looking for the enemy in this mock city. He would show them what he was made of, and earn his place in the ranks of the AFFS.
