Miniature History: The Nemesis was built to fill a hole in my arsenal of custom minis, a LAM built from the ground up. I already had another custom LAM built, the Phantom Hawk, but it was a Phoenix Hawk LAM with Warhammer PPC's replacing the jump packs and the hand gun filed off. Not what I consider a big mod, and I always wanted to build a really big mean LAM, kinda like the beta fighter in Robotech. When a recently pieced together Blood Kite refused to stay together, I decided to customize it. That's when it hit me, this would make a damn fine LAM. So my next project became immediately clear, and I set myself feverishly to work on it.
The Nemesis took an amazing 2 days to complete, unlike some of my other customs which have dragged on for weeks and months. The Taurus was notorious for taking forever to finish, nearly taking 2 months to complete.

The Blood kite really only needed few cosmetic changes on the main body parts. I started by filing the details off the enormous shoulders of the blood kite to give it an aerodynamic engine pod look. The legs looked fine as they were so I left them alone. The rear of the body was perfect, there were thrust ports littered all over the lower back, great for maneuvering jets on a LAM. The head was a little more difficult. I moved it forward, filed off the nose weapons and replace it with a Warhammer 40k missile pistol (it basically looks like the missile arm from a Zeus). The tip was glued on to form the nose cone, and it was puttied to fill in the gaps.

The wings were chopped off a Crimson Skies mini, but they needed the guns removed. I chopped them off with wire cutters and then filed the hell out of them to smooth them out. The wings were then glued to the respective sides. The arms sawed directly off the new commando mini and a little putty was added to the forearms, to fill in the gaps and make it more aerodynamic. Finally, the gun pod was added. I had fun with this. I used the lower leg of a crab mini, filed it down, attached some styrene to it, and glued it in place.

The Nemesis was painted by Joe Frazier, because i needed a really special paint job for it. Joe decided the paint scheme, which was later reworked into the fluff of the design. Will Mouat is responsible for the stats of this mech which was originally a clan mech. It was posted in the LOTB forums as the Iron Eagle, and I asked if I could use it for the nemesis LAM. He graciously excepted.
