The Inner Sphere victory over the Clans has long chaffed Clan Jade Falcon. Unwilling to adapt to peace and constantly guarding against internecine warfare, Clan Jade Falcon constantly seeks to remain on the cutting edge of technology.

Jade Falcon scientists and its counterparts in the merchant class have recently revealed a successful program from the deep cover research center on the planet Phoenix. Using a mix of discarded and cutting edge technology melded to a unique set of twins from the Pryde-Hazen sibko now seeks validation with the Jade Falcon Touman.

Once before a hybrid mech - air conversion demonstrator was used and found to be of marginal battle worthiness. Jade Falcon scientists surmised that the failure of the earlier demonstrator was the conflict of neither a Trueborn Mechwarrior or Aerospace pilot deeming it worthy to use such hybrid machine. The hybrid concept fell into disuse and was classed as a failure.

However, two disparate elements came together to form the foundation of the Phoenix Project so many years ago. The first was a radical design approach to the hybrid concept being promoted in the Inner Sphere. Plans were obtained by Jade Falcon merchants and sent to Phoenix. The second was several scientists from one of the eugenics programs discovered a rare set of twins developing in one of the artificial wombs. Standard procedure is to destroy the developing blastocyst. A scientist with connections to the Phoenix research center sent the developing twins intact to Phoenix.

Visionary scientists channeled one of the twins into Mechwarrior training and its sibtwin into Aerospace training. As each grew into maturity both tested out in the “Blooding”. Each defeated 2 proven warriors and each gained status as a Mechwarror or Aerospace Pilot in their respective fields.

A 2nd line Black Python was located and heavily converted. The mechs intrinsic aerodynamic shape lent itself readily to design changes. Improved jump jets give this hybrid a phenomenal 240 meter initial jump placement. The use of stub airfoil surfaces nearly doubles this aerial coverage creating a highly movable weapons platform. The detriment to this high mobility is a loss of 32% armor for a machine of this weight class

A dual cockpit arrangement allows the sibtwins unparalleled access to each other through inter-linked computer assisted kinesthetic amplification programs. The Black Pythons’ onboard targeting computer augments the sibtwins uncanny ability to meld themselves and the prototype into an awesome destructive force.

The sibtwins named Ca and Che playfully re-painted the Black Python as an immense Jade Falcon and have christened it with a new name...................... “Phoenix”
